Q: Do you digitally "clean-up" the Digital Study Models?

A: ORTHOpix Digital Study Models are “direct scans” of the stone models or impressions that we receive.  Any defects, i.e. air holes, bubbles, or chipped teeth, are left “as is”.  The only exception to this is when a set of Board Quality Plaster Study Models is requested in addition to the Digital Study Models.  When a set of Digital and Board Quality Plaster Study Models is requested, we fabricate the physical set of Board Quality Study Models first.  We then scan the finished set of Board Quality Study Models in order to create the Digital Study Models.  Since each set of Board Quality Study Models are sculpted and detailed by hand, the Digital Study Models will reflect these details as well.
